RBI-licensed partner bank

One app. One balance. No surprises.

Move money, pay bills and set your own limits from one screen — with the fee for every action shown before you confirm it, not after.

One app. One balance. No surprises.
The app

One app. One banking.

Manage your money, pay bills and send funds in seconds, all from your phone. Every screen shows the balance that will actually be there after the payment clears, rather than the one before it — which is the single thing most banking apps get wrong and the reason people keep a mental buffer they do not need.

One app. One banking.

What the app actually does

Six things, and the limits on each stated with them.

Quick money transfers

UPI and IMPS settle in seconds; NEFT settles in the next half-hour batch. The app tells you which rail it used and what that means before you send.

Bills in one place

Electricity, gas, broadband and rent, with the due date pulled from the biller rather than typed by you. Nothing auto-pays unless you switch it on.

Limits you set

Per-transaction and daily caps you control, changeable instantly and enforced on the server. A raised limit takes effect at the next login, never retroactively.

Spending, categorised

Categories you can rename and merge, because an automatic label that calls your pharmacy “shopping” is worse than no label at all.

Scheduled payments

Set a date and an amount. If the balance will not cover it the app warns you the evening before rather than failing it on the morning.

Statements that reconcile

CSV and PDF, with opening and closing balances that add up to the transactions between them. Exportable for any range, not only whole months.

Works with the billers you already use

Opening an account

Three steps, and the third is the one that takes time.

1

Download TapBank

Available on both stores. The app works in read-only mode before your account is open, so you can look around first.

2

Verify who you are

PAN and Aadhaar, verified against the registry. Around four minutes, and you can stop and resume without starting again.

3

Fund and go

A first transfer from any existing account activates the card. Approval is usually same-day, and we tell you the moment it is not.

4

Manage everything

Limits, standing instructions and statements all live in the same screen. Nothing here needs a branch, a callback or a form.

Your security, our promise

Advanced encryption, real-time monitoring and multi-layer protection — with what each one does not cover stated beside it.

Two-factor authentication

On every login and every new payee. It does not protect a payment you approved yourself, which is why the limits above exist.

Transaction notifications

Pushed within a second of the debit, and sent by SMS as well if the app has not been opened in seven days.

Biometric access

Face or fingerprint, held by your phone and never by us. Losing the phone does not expose the account; losing the PIN does.

End-to-end encryption

In transit and at rest. It does not encrypt what you type into somebody else’s website, which is where most account takeovers actually start.

24/7 protection support

A human on the phone within four minutes at any hour to freeze a card. Freezing is instant and reversible; you do not need us to do it.

Fraud detection and alerts

Unusual spend is flagged rather than blocked, because a blocked card in another country is worse than a message. You confirm or deny in the app.

What it costs

Questions worth asking a bank

Including the two we get asked least and should be asked most.

Who actually holds my money?

A licensed partner bank, not TapBank. We build the app; deposits sit with the bank and are covered by deposit insurance up to ₹5 lakh per depositor per bank under the DICGC scheme. If you already bank with the same partner, that limit is shared across both — which is the part nobody mentions.

What happens if TapBank shuts down?

Your money is with the partner bank and is not ours to lose. You would lose the app and would need to move to the bank’s own channels, which is disruptive but not a loss of funds. We would give ninety days’ notice.

Is a transfer really instant?

On UPI and IMPS, yes — seconds, at any hour. NEFT settles in the next half-hour batch and RTGS is instant only on banking days. The app names the rail it used, so “instant” is never a claim we make on your behalf.

Do you sell my transaction data?

No, and there is no anonymised-insights product either. The revenue is the card interchange and the two paid tiers above, which is why those tiers exist.
